The GoUK has implemented the World Bank assisted Uttarakhand Disaster Recovery Project (UDRP) and Additional Financing (AF) since 2013. UDRP-AF, which closed in September 2023.

The project covered the restoration of housing and rural connectivity (roads, bridges & slope protection work), River bank protection works, built the resilience of communities, and increased the capacity of the State to respond to emergencies.

The Uttarakhand Disaster Preparedness and Resilience Project (U-PREPARE) is a large multi-sectoral engagement on risk and vulnerability reduction, with assistance for reconstructing damaged resilient infrastructure, restoring connectivity, enhancing medical health facilities, strengthening SDRF and Fire services, early warning and response system, establishing hydro meteorological network, strengthening and upgrading the State Command and Control Centre of Forest Department.
